How Much Does Chiller Truck & Van Rental Cost in the UAE?

UAE chiller rental pricing isn’t standardised, and headline numbers you see advertised often aren’t directly comparable — one provider’s “AED 250/day” might include a driver and fuel, another’s might not. This page lays out what’s actually published across the market, what our own fully-inclusive rates are, and how to compare the two fairly.

How Much Does Chiller Truck & Van Rental Cost in the UAE

What to Actually Check Before Booking a Freezer Truck

Confirmed Temperature Range

Ask for the specific range, not just "freezer" as a label. −18°C is standard for most frozen food; some pharmaceutical or specialty cargo needs colder.

Recovery Speed After Door-Open

In 45°C+ ambient heat, a slow-recovering unit can lose several degrees during a multi-stop route. Ask directly how the provider addresses this, not just what the "resting" temperature is.

Tonnage Matched To Your Load

Freezer trucks range from 1-ton single-route vehicles to 10-ton bulk transfer units.

Pre-Cooling Before Arrival

A freezer unit should be at setpoint before your cargo is loaded, not cooling down after the first pallet is already inside.

What's Publicly Advertised Across the Market

A few UAE providers publish specific numbers on their own sites. Dubai Chiller Trucks advertises chiller van and truck rental “from AED 250/day.” Dubai Van LLC advertises an hourly rate starting around AED 100/hr as part of its flexible plan structure. Most other providers quote “affordable” or “competitive” pricing without a published figure, requiring a direct enquiry to get a number.

Why "From AED X" Numbers Aren't Always Comparable

When you see a competing rate advertised as “from AED 250/day,” it’s worth asking the provider directly:

  • Is a driver included, or a separate fee?
  • Is fuel included for a standard local run?
  • Is a sanitation or cleaning fee added separately?
  • Does the “from” rate apply to the smallest vehicle only, with larger tonnage priced up significantly?

A self-drive quote without a driver will naturally look cheaper than a driver-included quote — that’s not a provider being dishonest, but it does mean you’re not comparing the same product. Always ask what model (self-drive vs. driver-included) a published rate reflects.

What Actually Moves the Price

  • Vehicle type: Chiller vans are the cheapest entry point; chiller trucks scale up with tonnage.
  • Tonnage: Expect roughly 40–60% more for a 5–10 ton truck versus a 1–3 ton unit.
  • Duration: Weekly and monthly plans discount meaningfully against daily rates booked repeatedly.
  • Pickup emirate: Rates from a Dubai-based fleet dispatching into Abu Dhabi (or vice versa) typically carry a cross-emirate consideration — check whether that’s disclosed upfront or added later.
  • Driver inclusion: Self-drive is typically cheaper than driver-included, but shifts cold chain risk onto whoever is driving.

A Fair Way to Compare Quotes

Ask every provider you’re considering — including us — for the same four numbers: the rate, whether a driver is included, whether fuel is included, and whether there’s a minimum booking period. Once you have that from two or three providers on equal terms, the comparison actually means something.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally, a standard-roof chiller van on a self-drive basis is the lowest entry price across the market. Whether that’s the right choice depends on whether your team can safely handle cold chain driving without a trained driver — see our driver policy page for the trade-off.

For our fleet, yes — Abu Dhabi is our base, so Abu Dhabi rates are our standard pricing, while Dubai and other emirates carry a modest, disclosed dispatch consideration.

Not necessarily — check what’s included before comparing. A fully-inclusive rate at a higher headline number can cost less overall than a lower rate with a driver, fuel, or sanitation fee added afterward.
